Cross-country Portes du Soleil

Information on cross-country skiing

250 km Cross-country trails (in km):

In Portes du Soleil, there are not only the best conditions for alpine winter sports, lovers of Nordic skiing will also be very satisfied. 250 km of trails with different levels of difficulty wait to be explored. Most of the trails are located on an altitude over 1,000 m. Due to their moderate and pre-alpine characteristics, they offer perfect conditions for unhurried cross-country skiing.

Most trails are on the French side and pass scenic forests, river courses and lakes. Use of the trails is mostly for free, only the lift that takes you to the higher located trails has to be paid.

Experienced cross-country skiers are recommended to take on the 12 km "Croix des Comes", one of the longest and most demanding trails in the ski region. Beginners, on the other hand, can try out the tracks surrounding the resort of Châtel or Abondance along the Swiss border. Nordic skiing fans can also look forward to Avoriaz, Morzine and Morgins: whether you prefer skating or the classic style, beginner or advanced, everybody will get their money's worth in the cross-country ski network of Portes du Soleil.
