Thyon
Thyon is a district of the municipality of Vex, which lies in the French-speaking canton of Valais in Switzerland. Thyon is located at an altitude between 1,500 m and 2,100 m on the western slope of the Val d'Hérémence and is especially popular among nature lovers. The surrounding idyllic Thyon-Région is made us of the municipalities of Hérémence and Vex and stretches from the plain of the Rhône (600 m) to the Mont-Blanc de Cheilon (3,870 m). Winter holiday-makers can enjoy the view of the peak of Dent Blanche (4,357 m), as well as the fascinating surrounding mountain scenery of the Swiss Alps, and will rejoice over Thyon's sunny location. Valaisian farm houses with artful decorations, as well as typical chalets, lend a particularly unique charm to the idyllic Thyon-Région. Here, mountain lovers can take part in fantastic hikes and adventurous mountain bike tours during the summer. In the winter, Thyon, as the eastern entry point to the huge ski area "Les 4 Vallées", impresses with its wide range offers for winter sports and a panorama that spreads out over the Matterhorn, the Dent Blanche and the Mont Blanc. The famous 4 Vallées are indisputably a great experience for skiers! They offer 81 lifts, as well as 412 kilometres of piste and ski routes, of which 250 km are average to steep. Furthermore, the "4 Valleys" are a paradise for deep snow fans. Mont Fort at 3,300 m is located in the centre and is considered "the summit of amusement". From here, ski the longest valley run with 15 km and an altitude drop of 2,500 m!Seven resorts provide for great fun and entertainment for everyone.
