Ski area Rittner Horn - Ritten
A versatile children's park with magic carpet and co. is located at the middle station of the cable car. The 2.5 km-long toboggan run also starts here and leads to the valley station. The many rustic huts boast wonderful sun terraces and friendly innkeepers.
At the top of the Rittner Horn there is also a high altitude cross-country ski trail for cross-country skiers and a premium hiking trail around the Rittner Horn. There is also a marvellous snowkite zone where the wind sometimes whistles over the mountain ridge! There is a descent for every taste and ability level in this ski area.
Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy
To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. Other than that, things are more relaxed in Ritten. Ice skating in particular has a long tradition in the village. The locals are particularly proud of the Ritten ice rink, which is said to be the fastest outdoor rink in the world. There are also other options for ice sports fans, such as ice hockey in the Arena Ritten at 1,100 metres or on the frozen Lake Wolfsgruben. Bavarian curling also has a long tradition here and is still played in many places today. Tournaments and championships are even held here.
In addition to skiing, there are many activities around the ski area on the Rittner Horn. Hikers can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks on a premium winter hiking trail. Snowshoe hikers will find great routes on the sunny promenade and high-altitude trails. Toboggan fans can whizz through the forest on the 2.5 km long run on the Ritten and then stop off at a mountain hut for a nightcap. In the evening, many traditional restaurants offer culinary experiences such as Ritten wine or "Kloatze", a dessert made from pears.
Snowpark Rittner Horn - Ritten: Fun park
The Rittner Horn ski area has a well-maintained snow park with obstacles for beginners and advanced skiers alike. The entrance to the park is at the middle station. The park is divided into a freestyle area and a kids' area. For budding pros, there are several rails, boxes and kickers of various heights, which can be shaped if there is enough snow. For beginners and little freestylers, there is a much easier parcour course with a wave track next door.
