Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy
To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.Night skiing Pontedilegno - Tonale
Located between Val di Sole in Trentino and Valle Camonica in Lombardy, Passo del Tonale offers plenty of opportunities to conquer the pistes even after sunset. On several slopes, skiers can make their turns in the dark under the starry night sky. The Pista Valbione at Ponte di Legno, for example, offers an opportunity to do this. During the high season, the lift extends its operating hours from 20:30 to 23:00 on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The approximately 1.2 km long piste is accessible via a 4-seater chair lift. In addition to the Pista Valbione, the chair lift on the Valena piste in Passo del Tonale also runs a late shift. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 20:30 to 23:00, night owls have the opportunity to ski down the approximately one kilometre long piste.Après ski Pontedilegno - Tonale
If you haven't had enough exercise during the day, you can try your hand at mushing in Ponte di Legno and glide through the winter landscape on a sledge pulled by huskies. Things are a little quieter, but no less impressive, on a horseback ride or a romantic carriage ride through the snow-covered mountains.
Trentino also offers numerous experiences away from the piste: Early risers can be the first to glide down the freshly groomed slopes at the Trentino Ski Sunrise - accompanied by the light of the rising sun and a breathtaking view. For the more adventurous, there is ice climbing: Equipped with crampons, helmet and ice axe and accompanied by an experienced guide, the route leads vertically upwards - adrenalin guaranteed.
Snowpark Pontedilegno - Tonale: Snowpark
The "Snowpark Tonale" in the Pontedilegno-Tonale ski area is a 700 metre long park that is the absolute highlight for freestylers. It is divided into two zones: one for beginners and one for advanced riders. A total of over 25 obstacles, including kickers, boxes and jibs, await freestyle fans. The more challenging elements are located in the upper area, while flatter obstacles are available for practising in the lower section. The "Easy Area" on the practice slope has particularly easy elements - ideal for beginners.
The snowpark at Passo del Tonale has even more to offer: It is home to a variety of creative and athletically challenging elements such as boardercross, kicker (jump and ramp), rail/slide, boxes, corner/hip, wave riding, pro line, humps, whoops and parabolic turns. This makes it one of the most versatile snowparks in the region.
In addition, there is a one-kilometre-long ski and snowboard cross course with waves and steep turns that is not only challenging, but also great fun. There is a dedicated chill-out zone for relaxing breaks.
Another highlight for freestylers is the high alpine snowpark on the Presena Glacier. It is open until the summer months and, with its unique location above the clouds, offers the perfect setting for an endless freestyle winter.
