Ski area Ski area Arabba-Marmolada

The ski area Arabba-Marmolada lies at the foot of the Marmolada Glacier between and altitude of 1,446 and around 3,269 m and offers a total of 63 kilometres of pistes with diverse slopes for skiers and snowboarder of all skill levels.

Located between the Pordoi Pass and the Campolongo Pass, the ski area makes up part of the heart of the Dolomiti Superski region, which connects all four Dolomite passes together with the well-known Sella Ronda. Skiers won't need to unfasten their skis once on the whole of this track and can instead enjoy the opportunity to ski in front of the majestic Marmolada mountain (3,342 m), the Queen of the Dolomites. In the ski area Arabba-Marmolada, skiers and snowboarders can expect lots of winter sport fun on the highest mountain in the Dolomites!

Furthermore, winter sports fans value the ski area Arabba-Marmolada because it remains largely untouched by mass tourism. This is perfect for skiers and snowboarders, if actually a little confusing, as the ski area usually has idea snow conditions as a result of its high altitude.

Beyond the access point to the Sella Ronda, another highlight in the ski area Arabba-Marmolada is the 12 km long slope that starts at the Punta Rocca (3,269 m). The run leads to Malga Ciapela and serves as one of the most beautiful stretches in the Alps.

For those that aren't all too practised on skis or on boards there are also plenty of slopes to practice on to be found in the ski area Arabba-Marmolada. A total of around 33 blue pistes are ready and waiting for newcomers and more advanced ski enthusiasts.

Alongside a snowpark with jumps, tables, boxes and rails where freestylers can enjoy themselves, there is also a ski school area in the ski area. Here the little ones can have their first go on the ski slopes.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Arabba

Arabba is located in a relatively peaceful area and not in the centre of mass tourism and the bustle of the restaurant trade. Accordingly, after a day on the slopes, winter sports fans can enjoy more tranquil activities, such as winter walks or an evening meal in one of the restaurants located in the resort. If you've booked a hotel with a spa area, you can end you day in the sauna or swimming pool.

If you can afford to spend an hour driving, don't miss out the opportunity to have a day out in the well-known World Cup town of Cortina d’Ampezzo. The town is located in the heights of Veneto and offers a little more hustle and bustle as it is a popular holiday destination in the Dolomites and has around 5,900 inhabitants.

Snowpark: Arabba Superpark Arabba

In the ski area Arabba-Marmolada, the Arabba Superpark is ready and waiting for freestylers and newcomers. It is located at the Le Pale chair lift, at an altitude of 1,915 m, and has a number of tables, jumps, rails and boxes ready. There is also a chill-out zone for you to take a breather in.

Winter sports fans who don't dare to leap all that high, but still are keen on some special fun on the pistes should try out the Funslope Arabba, which treats beginners and more experienced skiers to curves, small jumps, tunnels, bridges and snails.
