Tegernsee

The town of Tegernsee is picturesquely situated at an altitude of 747 metres on the shores of the lake of the same name, nestled amongst the rolling hills and majestic mountains of the Bavarian Alps. This idyllic setting has made the town popular not only with its approximately 3,500 residents, but also with those seeking relaxation and active holidaymakers. One reason for this is undoubtedly Tegernsee’s rich cultural history, which dates back over 1,200 years. After all, from the year 804 onwards, the town was home to the famous Benedictine monastery, which is now open to visitors as a magnificent castle. And, as is fitting for Bavaria, the monks also established a brewery here. Tradition and customs are still very much alive here today, and those who prefer a more peaceful atmosphere can enjoy the tranquillity and the impressive mountain backdrop on a leisurely walk along the lakeshore.

Spitzingsee-Tegernsee

The alpine region Spitzingsee-Tegernsee is located in Upper Bavaria approx. 1 km away form the federal state capital Munich. The viewpoint tower of the Taubenberg mountain offers a view of the pristine nature and the extensive ski area Spitzingsee-Tegernsee. Cross-country skiers will get their money's worth on the approx. 100 km of tracks, some of which are even illuminated at night. The snowy landscape can also be explored with horse sled rides or hikes on approx. 300 km of winter hiking trails.
