Ski area Nesselwang

Winter sports enthusiasts who want to ski in Bad Wörishofen can do so on the local mountain on Kirchdorfer Hügel. Just under 2.5 km outside the town centre, there is a 200 m long slope at an altitude of 616 to 635 m, which is particularly suitable for children and beginners. However, the T-bar lift is only in operation when the snow conditions in the Allgäu allow it. For guests who are looking for long days of skiing in the mountains, there are always day trips from Bad Wörishofen to the ski resorts in the Bavarian Alps or Tyrol.

The Nesselwang ski area is around 55 km away, located right on the edge of the village on the flanks of the Alpspitze (1,575 m) and the Edelsberg (1,624 m). Winter sports enthusiasts can choose from 11 kilometres of easy to intermediate pistes and six lifts. The ski area not only offers the ideal conditions for beginners, but experts will also get their money's worth in the fun park and the race course with speed display.

It is only 58 km from Bad Wörishofen to Füssen and just a few kilometres from Neuschwanstein Castle is the Tegelberg (1,881 m) with the Tegelberg winter sports arena with around 8 kilometres of pistes. From here, it is only a stone's throw of 16 kilometres to Reutte in Tyrol. And there, 16 kilometres of pistes and 5 lifts await in the local ski area, the Hahnenkamm-Höfen high-altitude ski area (853 to 1,900 m), which means that the ski area is guaranteed to have snow even in milder winters.

Almost 98 km away is the Oberstaufen ski area with the SkiArena Steibis with 18 kilometres of pistes and 12 lifts or the small ski area between Hündlekopf and Thalkirchdorf with 18 kilometres of pistes and 10 lifts. The wide, gentle and perfectly groomed slopes at Thalkirchdorf-Hündle are particularly suitable for children and beginners. Experienced skiers, on the other hand, will find suitable pistes in Steibis or on the Hündle.

Night skiing Bad Wörishofen

"Small but fine", that could be the motto on the Kirchdorf hill when it comes to the lift operation. Because when the snow conditions allow it, around 2.5 km from the centre of Bad Wörishofen in the cold season, it is mainly children and beginners who can let off steam on skis on the 200 m long slope. Even after dark. This is because the piste has been equipped with floodlights since 2013. In winter, the lift is open every Wednesday from 3 pm to 8 pm and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Après ski Bad Wörishofen

There is no traditional après-ski as in the high mountains in Bad Wörishofen per se, as things are traditionally quieter in the spa town. However, this does not mean that guests here have to do without drinks or Bavarian specialities in the evenings in winter. Cool drinks at the bar and thumping beats from the loudspeakers await in the Relax or Chaplin cocktail bar, while tradition is a top priority in the Alte Brauerei in the Hotel-Gasthof Adler. In addition to wheat beer and beer liqueur, there are hearty regional specialities such as Allgäu Kässpatzen and Leberkäs.

For even more winter fun, try Nordic walking in the snow on three routes of up to 13 kilometres in and around the town or in the ice rink. The ice rink is open daily from the beginning of October to mid-March for ice skating and on Wednesdays for curling. The ice disco also takes place here on Sundays during the school holidays.
