Ski area Grand Massif

The Grand Massif combines five ski resorts to one of France's largest ski areas. On 265 kilometres of pistes (697 - 2,480 m), no wishes remain unfulfilled. A total of 67 lifts take you up the mountain. From Samoëns, it is also worthwhile for skiers and snowboarders to make a detour to the neighbouring ski resorts. While in Morillon it is mainly carving fans who can let off steam on wide and gentle pistes, Les Carroz offers a completely different atmosphere with long forest runs and some mogul and off-piste sections. And all those who want to get straight into the big ski area can use the free ski bus from Samoëns. It shuttles back and forth between the Saix gondola and the ski resort every 15 to 20 minutes.

Given the size of the area, it goes without saying that the Grand Massif has much more skiing fun to offer. The piste Les Cascades for example is an absolute highlight for beginners: it leads down 14 km from Flaine to Sixt Fer à Cheval and gives you a wonderful view of the Mont Blanc. With a bit of luck, you may even spot ice climbers demonstrating their skills in the icy waterfalls.

Experts prefer the slopes at Lac de Gers, Grandes Platières and Tête Pelouse. A freerider's paradise is the "Combe de Gers", a 2.5 km long deep-snow route on which you conquer 800 metres of altitude. Freestylers, on the other hand, can let off steam in the various snow parks spread throughout the area. Samoëns also thought of the little ones: there is a children's training area with carpet lift and, in addition to several ski schools, a ski kindergarten for children from 3 months to 6 years.

Après ski Samoëns

Après-ski in Samoëns is interpreted in a very classic way. Numerous bars offer a colourful programme of music, with something for every winter sports enthusiast who wants to rock the dance floor with a good drink until late into the night. In addition to parties, the leisure programme in Samoëns off the slopes is also characterised by many other activities.

The sights of the listed village, such as the 12th century parish church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, the 16th century market hall or the manor houses of Château de Bérouze and Château du Tannay are always worth a visit. The toboggan runs on the Col de Joux Plane and in the town itself, which are 1,600 m and 500 m long, are really action-packed. You can also get a further adrenaline rush from fat biking, ice climbing, heliskiing or even a night-time snowmobile ride.

Snowpark: Snowpark HO5 Park Samoëns

The ski area Grand Massif has several fun parks. One of the most popular is the HO5 Park on the Calcédoine slope in Flaine. Here, freestylers can choose between kickers, rails and boxes of various degrees of difficulty. Unique is "Ze Forest", a trail with steep turns and banks that takes you through the forest.
