In the heart of the Écrins National Park lies the Haut-Champsaur cross-country skiing area, which connects Orcières with the many surrounding villages and offers a total of 43 kilometres of trails.
At an altitude of around 1,300 m, fans of the Nordic discipline can enjoy a 4 km high altitude cross-country ski trail amidst the romantic and snow-covered larch forests. The longest cross-country ski trail in the area, which is one of the three free cross-country ski trails, is equally attractive. You will find this approximately 7 km long cross-country trail in St. Léger les Mélèzes, just a few minutes' drive from Orcières.
