Cross-country Giant Mountains

Information on cross-country skiing

500 km Cross-country trails (in km):

The Giant Mountains offer a large cross-country trail network of more than 500 km at every level of difficulty. Popular cross-country ski centres can be found in e.g. Špindlerův Mlýn (Spindler's Mill), Harrachov and Černý Důl.

Spindler's Mill has a network of 96 km daily prepared and well-kept trails. Ambitious cross-country skiers can use the chair lift from the mountain station up to the high plateau Plán in order to get to the routes over the mountain ridge. Everyone with a good physical fitness should not miss out on the 30 km trail over the Giant Mountain ridge. Surrounding Certova Hora nearby Harrachov, lover's of Nordic skiing will find a true El Dorado with approx. 108 km of trails. Especially the trails over mountain ridges are recommended. Those looking for longer tours will find the perfect starting point for the 30 km long "Giant Mountain Ski Way" up at the chair lift's mountain station on Certova Hora. The trail leads from Harrachov to Spindler's Mill and offers a wonderful panoramic view. The route along the Mumlava waterfalls are especially recommendable for beginners. The impressive waterfalls are definitely worth a visit.

With a total of 10 km of trails, Černý Důl offers scenic tracks through Giant Mountains National Park with beautiful views of the Sněžka (Snow Top), that reaches up to 1,603 m high at the border to Poland. In Pec pod Snezkou, 94 km of trails lead through unspoiled nature and offer lots of diversity. If you prefer soft ranges of hills should visit the Lausitz mountains.
