Ski area Winklmoosalm - Steinplatte
The Winklmoosalm-Steinplatte ski area offers a total of 42 kilometres of slopes and, thanks to its ideal location, is one of the most snow-sure and snow-rich areas in Germany. It is characterised above all by 14 modern lifts and cable cars, a great range of cross-country trails and winter hiking trails, and a valley village with a very special flair.
The slopes are mostly easy and moderately difficult. The gentle slopes on the Bavarian side are ideal for beginners, while the north side of the Steinplatte, with its varied ski slopes and challenging runs, is more suitable for experienced skiers. The longest run in the ski area – and in the whole of Germany – covers 9 kilometres and a 1,100-metre difference in altitude on a moderately difficult route.
Après ski Winklmoosalm - Steinplatte
Those who prefer to explore the beautiful surroundings on a hike will find numerous opportunities in Reit im Winkl. Germany's first premium winter hiking trail, for example, stretches over approx. 6 km and is located at an altitude of around 1,200 m on the Hemmersuppenalm. Freshly rolled paths lead through the enchanting winter landscape. A second premium winter hiking trail also covers around 6 km and offers unobstructed views of the Kaiser Mountains with the "Wilder Kaiser" and "Zahmer Kaiser" (2,344 m). Winter hikers also get their money's worth on the Steinplatte: the approximately 1 km long Triassic Trail starts at the mountain station and leads along perfectly groomed paths through the snow-covered landscape. Along the way, spectacular viewing platforms and exciting dinosaur stations invite you to linger and marvel.
Things get more fast-paced on one of Germany's longest natural toboggan runs at the Hemmersuppenalm (4 km), while a horse-drawn sleigh ride offers a more romantic experience. If you want to relax a little in the evening, the Schwimmstadl indoor swimming pool is the place to go. In addition to the swimming pools, a soothing sauna area also awaits you here.
Snowpark Winklmoosalm - Steinplatte: Steinplatte snowpark
The Steinplatte Snow Park offers plenty of space for action with around 50 elements spread over a length of almost 1,500 metres – and not just for the pros. The park is divided into three sections, ensuring plenty of variety and fun. From the chill area, you can see the entire park and watch the daring tricks of others.
In the main section, there are four lines (fun, easy, medium, pro) with various boxes, tubes, rails, hips, kickers and corners to choose from. Things get a little wilder in the middle section, where advanced riders can hone their skills on a flowing line. The end section consists of a medium/pro line that leads to the park lift and takes you back up to the top.
