Ski holidays Ulrichsberg - a winter wonderland!
Ulrichsberg
Ulrichsberg is a picturesque village in the Bohemian forest, approx. 10 km from the German border. The village has approx. 3.000 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 626 m. The immediate proximity to the Hochficht Alpine Centre and the Bohemian forest Nordic Centre makes Ulrichsberg a popular tourist destination. The sports and leisure offer includes snowshoe hikes, horse-drawn sleigh rides, curling, tobogganing, bowling and much more. The Bohemian forest indoor vitality pool with sauna, solarium and massage facilities is a great place to relax. The place is rich in cultural sights. There are, among other things, several handicraft show companies and museums.In the winter people are drawn to the nearby Hochficht ski area. Here, the whole family can enjoy 20 kilometres of prepared pistes at altitudes of up to 1,338 metres. In addition to blue and red pistes, winter sports enthusiasts also have a kids' park and a fun park at their disposal.
If you spend your holiday in Ulrichsberg, you should not miss out on the two special lookout towers of the community. At Sulzberg, at 1,041 m, you can climb 137 steps of a former oil drilling tower to a height of another 24 m. From here you have a fantastic view of one of Europe's largest reservoirs - the Moldau Reservoir in the Czech Republic. If you want to go even higher, you should go to the 33 m high Alpenblick lookout tower - the name Alpenblick is not a coincidence here, since, when the weather is good, there is a fantastic view with the Alps in the distance.
Bohemian Forest
The Bohemian Forest is a low mountain range up to 1,456 m high, which stretches for about 120 km across the border between Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. Particularly remarkable is its density of forests and its high snow reliability. Due to its continental location, the Bohemian Forest is exposed to the influence of cold air masses from Eastern Europe in winter. These, together with the altitude of mostly over 1,000 m, ensure ideal snow conditions and make the region a popular destination, especially for cross-country skiers.Travel Ulrichsberg
