The resorts of Bad Aussee, Altausee Bad Mitterndorf, Tauplitz and Tauplitzalm as well as Pichl-Kainisch comprise an extensive network that includes a total of 229.1 km of perfectly-groomed cross-country ski trails and is also referred to in its entirety as the "Salzkammergutloipe".

Around Bad Aussee you will find almost 17.3 km of well-groomed cross-country ski trails. The longest trail is about 10 km long and starts at the Reiterer Plateau and ends at the Jausenstation Kogler near the Teichschloss.
